They work miraculously while allowing smooth function of your feet, legs, hips, pelvis and lower back. The effectiveness is long term while restoring the natural walking and running patterns. They play tremendous part in the prevention of problems related to hips, feet and legs..
What is Gait scan?
Gait scan technology is a state-of-the-art electronic system with outstanding accuracy and reliability which allows your physiotherapist to assess your foot mechanics (study of motion). The main function is to detect the abnormal walking pattern which is the root of the problem. After that it produces a series of report which gives your physiotherapist exact idea how your foot mechanics may be contributing to the problem you might be facing.
Who should have a Gait scan?
The Gait scan system works in a very effective manner helping your physiotherapist to get best and isolated care for situations such as:
- Foot, Arch or Heel pain
- A Dropped Arch
- Hip or Back pain
- Knee or Ankle pain
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Heal Pain caused by Bone Spurs
- Achilles Tendonitis
- Shin Splints
How your Gaitscan assessment works
Electronic pressure-sensitive plate has thousands of tiny sensors which capture the distribution of pressure of your foot, while you walk across it. Then the pressure distribution of your foot is displayed in 2-Dimensional(2D) and 3-Dimensional(3D) views
Then your reports are visualized, assessed and compared. Having the reports allows your physiotherapist to compare it with the “ideal” foot scan. After the comparison, your physiotherapist will discuss it with you and will show you the result and interpret deviations from normal Interpretation from the report will allow physiotherapist to evaluate the reason for the pain and if so best way to eliminate the pain.
Finally, your scan data is sent directly to the orthotics laboratory to have custom foot orthotics manufactured for your feet. In most cases you will receive your custom foot orthotics in 3 weeks.
